Parag Y. Shah is a personal injury and criminal defense attorney in Atlanta, Georgia. He graduated from Rhodes College in 2003 and went on to receive his law degree from Ohio Northern University in 2006. In the same year, Mr. Shah began representing clients in felony cases for the Atlanta Judicial Circuit Public Defender's Office. In 2008, Mr. Shah joined the Law Offices of L. David Wolfe, P.C. as an associate attorney. In 2011, Mr. Shah started his own law firm, The Shah Law Firm, specializing in personal injury and criminal defense.
Mr. Shah is a board member for The Georgia Criminal Defense Lawyers Education Fund, an appointed member of the State Bar of Georgia's Indigent Defense Committee, participates as a judge for the Georgia Mock Trial Competitions, and is a faculty member for the National Criminal Defense College and the Bill Daniel Trial Advocacy Program. In 2009, Mr. Shah received the Amicus Author award from the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers for his work on Santos v. State. Mr. Shah has been rated 10 out of 10 on Avvo.com for 3 consecutive years. In 2011, Mr. Shah was featured as an expert in criminal defense on NPR's "This American Life", episode 430 - Very Tough Love.
Mr. Shah released the first edition of "The Code" in 2007. Since then, the Code has been widely acclaimed by prosecutors, defense attorneys, judges, and law enforcement. Mr. Shah has released the fifth edition of The Code (which can be found at www.theGAcode.com) and is currently working on his new book called "The Code - Civil Edition" which will be a pocketbook on Georgia's Civil Practice Act.
