Instructional Designer

DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities:



The ideal candidate will:



Be a solution-focused leader
Design and develop instructional material for customer training courses that support business functions and technical products
Work with subject matter experts to identify what students need to learn, develop learning objectives and ensure that the content matches those objectives
Revise and structure content and activities to shape them for learning needs
Demonstrate and utilize effective needs analysis and course development
Create media to support learning, develop assessments, and adapt instructional materials
Can independently develop entry and advanced level courses for both internal and external audiences
Able to utilize multimedia technology and authoring tools
Be detail oriented in every aspect of work; review your own work to ensure completeness, clarity for target audiences, and compliance with standards and guidance (including proper grammar, active vs. passive voice, typos, etc.)
Manage work to allocated effort and schedule; identify in advance any issues with effort/schedule; set own priorities
Orally present ideas logically, concisely, and persuasively
Demonstrate complete mastery of basic rules of writing: proper grammar, syntax rules and sentence structure; logically organize presentation of materials; alter written content to match needs of target audience using appropriate word choice, tone, and voice
Develop rapport with and earn respect from clients
Effectively document, analyze, and implement feedback from pilots and train-the-trainer sessions
Implement the production phase of a product life cycle, including reviewing all documents prior to production, supporting the development of art and programming, and communicating with vendors to produce materials if needed
Have experience producing results in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
Be self-directed, highly professional and collaborative
Demonstrate ability to resolve issues through active listening, good judgment, and problem solving skills
Possess excellent interpersonal, organizational, and planning skills
Strong relationship builder and communicator with demonstrated experience partnering with all employees
Demonstrate integrity, strive for excellence in her/his work
Gather and interpret data as a tool for decision making
